old is the new new
so it's moving time again. that time of the year where i throw all of my crap into industrial size garbage bags, toss it in the back of the 'ol toyota and venture cross country to bigger and better things. well, maybe not 'bigger and better' but definitely 'more humid and closer to paul martin'.
okay, so where is this going, you ask? well, i decided that i would be productive while i watched this weeks melodrama unfold on the oc. i hauled out all the cd's i could find, and decided to organize them alphabetically according to height for the trip out to o-town. i discovered things i had forgotten i even owned. i think my favorite surprises are the mix cd's that i churned out between 2000 and 2003. some of the highlights included on these gems:
captain and tennille - love will keep us together
macy grey - sexual revolution
weezer - keep fishin'
custom - beat me
jimmy eat world - sweetness
baby blue sound crew - money jane
aaliyah - we need a resolution
blink 182 - time to break up
destiny's child - nasty girl
neil diamond - forever in blue jeans
not that these songs are all stellar contributions to the music industry that will go down in history...but they seem to have captured a time in my life. listening to them again takes me back to the carefree days of summer (one of the cd's is aptly named 'jammin' summer hits 2002 - it also happens to contain alot of velvet empire). oh, and let's not go spreading it around that i love neil diamond. wait - the funny thing is i love will ferrell as neil diamond more than i love neil diamond as neil diamond. oh well.
ps- i found this random picture of thom yorke - he actually looks kinda sexy. yes, that's right. i said thom yorke looks sexy. who woulda thunk it? oh, besides lyn or ky that is. i'm sure they have secret yorkie crushes. (admit it lynnie c.... i knew you liked the edge all these years...i'm just waiting for you to own up to dr. grant now....he's a sexpot!) let's get the confessions people - who are your secret old men crushes?
